Help us campaign today for a better tomorrow!
Your candidates have been part of this community for many years, working tirelessly to make it a better place.
Anita is a retired Postmaster General and trainer. Her management experience is second to none. When not at work she was spending her time volunteering . She is anxious to work with Candidate, Tina Hiodis, to find State and Federal grants to repurpose vacant buildings to help our veterans and homeless off the streets and get the mental and physical healthcare needed.
Anita is out knocking on doors talking to people she says are "just like her". They are concerned with fees being added that should be considered
"increased taxes" but aren't because that would not fair well with re-elections. Things such as charging residents for RAIN WATER! Another area of concern is having all the City utilities combined on one bill when people are struggling to make ends meet. And then if the bill is late ALL City services are terminated. We need better!
Tina Hiotis, a proud VETERAN, spent years as a registered nurse and medical educator. When she left the medical field she became an independent contractor who specializes in finding and securing government grants for small to large businesses. This experience will be instrumental in bringing money into the budget that doesn't require tax increases. Tina would like to utilize both our
Federal and State offices, working with them to help bring money to our community through grants. The more money she is able to secure, is the lessens the need for personal property tax burdens. Tina would compliment both Anita and Yevet's visions of helping Veterans, homeless and our children. In electing this TEAM, you would be bringing multi faceted talents and experience.
STRONGER TOGETHER

Yevet's Let's Skate. She is the founder of the Erie Lady Lions hockey club for girls and women. She has brought unbelievable revenue to the City by bringing hundreds of hockey teams to town for tournaments and instrumental in bringing the NCAA Final Four Tournament to Erie. Yevet has served on many committees and boards that all are focused on child development through sports. Yevet would like to bring her lifelong experience to City Council to develop programs to inspire youth through sports and activities that will give them a sense of purpose which leads to bright futures.
Matthew Thomas is a graduate of Gannon University, where he earned a degree in political science with a near perfect GPA. As an attorney, Matthew has handled over 1,000 criminal cases. He empathizes with the struggles of others. His father became addicted to drugs when Matthew was only 3 years old, and his mother (who is a personal hero of his) raised him for many years on the salary of a part-time college professor. Matthew wants to see tough-on-crime policies, completely safe streets and lower city taxes on residents.
He decided to run recently when there was a deadly shooting of a 17 year old just two houses down from his. He wants safety not only for his wife and two young children, he wants it for everyone in the City of Erie.
Kimberly Hunter, an America First Blue Star mom, would like to represent you on City Council. She is a Mercyhurst graduate, a taxpayer and a hard worker-not a politician. Kim raised her family, broke several records in retail, and worked as a CNA. She served the fire department as an auxiliary volunteer, coached youth sports and was a Girl Scout Leader for 16 years.
Her focus for the City is to fight for balanced budgets, transparency and to lift Erie up. She wants to help build a future to be proud of!
